Jim’s Diary – 6th January

Natasha and I have just got back from a three-night trip to Paris.

I wanted to film a little travelogue about Paris, So, we booked ourselves into the rather wonderful but small Westminster hotel. It was well placed right in the centre of Paris.

Natasha likes to put together a well packed trip. After our British Airways flight was delayed, we arrived at the hotel and later had dinner on a boat along the Seine, which everyone enjoyed.

We started our Paris tour in a golf buggy the next morning, feeling a bit rough but enjoyed the cold, stunning sights. It really is a remarkably pretty city..

At night, we went to the Crazy Horse.  It is famous for girls showing off their knockers. But after the first little dance the knockers were forgotten and the lighting and the production just blew me and Natasha away, We’d also taken Natasha’s mum, she loved it as well

In true Natasha fashion, her and her mother got up first thing in the morning and went up the Eiffel Tower. I stayed in bed. It was nothing to do with my fear of heights honestly, I had a cold.

In the evening, we attended the Moulin Rouge. The experience was impressive, although the venue felt somewhat crowded and the food quality could have been improved.

The 10:35 British Airways flight home became the 11:30 flight home and when we arrived at Heathrow airport, that looked remarkably like New Delhi, we set off to find our bags.

In the baggage whole the screen told us it was carousel 3. Luckily for us after waiting one hour with no bags a woman said to Natasha  “we’ve just picked our bags up from carousel 6“ and yes you’ve guessed it, our bags were on carousel 6 with no mention of our flight from Paris. Shocking welcome back to England and at the risk of sounding racist I have to say I saw no white people working at Heathrow whatsoever. Apart from a big boned girl at the duty free perfume counter.

Paris is also suffering from Global warming. It would seem… the world is changing
