Jim’s Diary – 12th/13th/14th October 2025
Sunday 12th October
Another hectic week…. And I have to admit I’ll get more tired doing
nothing than I do by working…… I think one can fall into a trap by
saying I’m not working tonight let’s go out to dinner ,so then into the
Uber ,dinner ,back into the Uber sleep , get home, go to bed then
wake up feeling shit and repeat. Need to get back to work
Monday the 13th of October
this is a day of much regret as I forgot to enter into my diary the
Margaret Thatcher dinner celebrating 100 years birthday
three months ago I agreed to do the quiz night in the hamble for the
local lifeboat… and then I’ve got a message from the producers of
the Margaret Thatcher night asking me what I would like to eat? I
didn’t know what they were talking about then I realised I did not
enter this into my work diary and did not receive any emails from
them until a week before… last week in fact… I felt awful about it as I
could not cancel the charity night…. Even if it was for my beloved
Margaret Thatcher and my good friend Donald..
I still feel terrible as I’m typing this. I took my car down to Hyundai in Southampton and checked in for a
service and got my first ever Uber dialled on my own phone to the
pub in the hamble…. The quiz night was hysterical and a big success
we made a good few quid for the lifeboat and the Tasha drove down
and picked me up…. Of course as soon as I shot the car door I was
fast asleep and woke up in my driveway…. I don’t think I was in the
good books
Tuesday the 14th of October
A dinner party tonight at home with our friends from the hamble plus
actress Debbie Arnold and her new squeeze Steve the Scouser.
I cooked a Thai fish Curry. There were ten of us in all…. It’s a little
daunting trying to get the free course meal together for 10 people…
but I managed it and by all accounts it was a big hit…….. Fell into bed
about midnight and up this morning….. And so where the hell is my
car I’ve now got to jump on a train and go to Southampton to get
it…….. They’ve sent me a film of the underneath of it and told me I
need one tyre how the function 1 tyre wear out and three not.
